Vardø Harbour

Norwegian buildings and reflections in water.

Not yet finished!

I spent a few weeks in Norway last summer. This was a very meaningful trip for me for several reasons. It is a magnificent and gorgeous place. I love the language and am picking it up again. I love the knitting – yes, I knt in strands of colour on circular needles). Most of all because it allowed me a connection with my mother, her mother and many reminders of my family. It was a healing time and a period of growth.

Of course, this provided me with lots of reference for some new art. Let us begin with some landscapes! As is that were not exciting enough, I have painted these in oils, for the first time in twenty years. Water-miscible oils are such a relief, I dislike solvents.
